  • STEP 1

    The carriers place a shoulder strap over each of their heads so that a seat is formed between them. Using the buckles on the straps, the carriers then tighten the straps so that they fit firmly to their bodies and so that the seat is positioned at or around the top of their hip bones.

  • STEP 2

    The patient is helped to a standing position in front of the carriers. The carriers then take hold of the front handles before taking a controlled lunge so that the seat is positioned behind the patient’s knees. The patient then places their arms over the carriers’ shoulders before taking a seat on the Fleetseat. Once the patient is seated and the safety of all users has been confirmed, the carriers raise the seat by returning to a standing position.

  • STEP 3

    The carriers then assess the environment, confirm user comfort and, provided both carriers and the patient are safe, commence walking. Note: The transportation process is easier if carriers take steps in unison, so it is recommended that carriers use a “3” count to commence the transportation process.

  • STEP 4

    Upon reaching the destination, the carriers lower the seat and then assist the patient back to a standing position. Depending on the circumstances, the patient may require further assistance to safely sit or lie down.
